Worshipful Brother William Fenn

William Fenn, Founder of Lacon, Illinois. Personal Friends with President Abraham Lincoln And the 24th Worshipful Master of Washington Lodge #17. I have only limited information on WB Fenn. It appears that he came to Dayton, Ohio around 1815. Probably settling here after the war of 1812. He would spend the next 20 or so years in Hamilton, Ohio after serving his lodge as Master, Brother Fenn along with his two brothers Norman and Ira All three studied law and traveled to the Illinois River just north of Peoria and settled in a town the founded called Lacon, Illinois. It is mention in the memories of his son Dr. Charles Fenn that they were family friends with President Lincoln and they hosted him at a campaign rally for President Zachary Taylor. He remained there the rest of his life. He died there in 1873 the same day after his brothers funeral. and was buried in Lacon Cemetery in Marshall, County Illinois he is mentioned several times in The history of Marshall County Illinois.
