Worshipful brother john h. Dubbs

John H. Dubbs Esq, Coffee & Grog Shop Owner, Former Hamilton County Senator, Prominent Cincinnati Attorney and the 29th Worshipful Master of Washington Lodge #17.  In the early 1800s WB Dubbs was an Inn Keeper with his partner Issac Falconer. He later moved to Reading, Ohio and opened a law practice. In 1848 he ran for senator of Hamilton, County and was elected however, not without conflict! A hearing was held in the senate December 4, 1848 to determine a recount of the votes which he was declared the winner. Later he retired and passed away in 1860. His Find A Grave profile says he was born in 1860 but that is incorrect. The headstone reads January 26, 1860 age 75 years revealing he was actually born 1785. He is buried in Reading, Ohio in the Reading Cemetery. His headstone bares the 3 great lights of masonry. The Holy Bible, Square & Compasses.
