I had the privilege of attending two of the inspections this year. This is the first time in anyone’s collective memory that this was done. For me tonight’s inspection had an added bonus as I traveled with two of the newest and youngest members of Washington Lodge #17. In addition to Bro. Cole and R.W.Bro. Shields, I was accompanied by Bro. Ken Napper, J.S., and Bro. Sean Carr. Of some note is that in addition to the Grand Master and Presiding Officers of the Appendant Bodies, Ohio DeMolay was also represented in the fact that Sean Carr currently serves as the State Master Councilor. This time Eastern Star #55 raised Brother Centers to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. In attendance were Brother Centers’ grandfather, father, and brother. How fitting considering Most Worshipful’s theme, “Freemasonry – It’s All in the Family.” If you have not been attending inspections this season, I would encourage you to do so. Inspections are a wonderful way to connect to brothers throughout the district. So much can be learned from watching how others do the same degrees. Eastern Star #5524th
